Upgrade so application will run on Python 3 code base

It would be valuable now that Python 3 is more widely accepted to run on the Python 3 code base as well as the python 2.x code base. Starting the conversion now will also help make the application viable as Linux distros and users move to Python 3 as the base.

I am not so sure about pg_view installed from pypi, but pg_view.py in the master works with Python 3 for ages.
