dealextreme dongle does not connect

The listed "supported" dongle, does not seem to connect. I changed pot value to max current (clockwise), recycled power etc on two boards and the 3.0 device would not work. I advise that this dongle be listed as not supported, unless there is another suggested solution (I may try a powered usb hub).
