The Three Gorges Group Research Institute, officially known as the China Three Gorges Corporation Science and Technology Research Institute, was established in June 2019. It is a directly affiliated unit of the Three Gorges Group and a unified scientific research and innovation platform. It mainly focuses on the strategic layout and core business of the group to carry out scientific and technological innovation research, targeting core areas such as large hydropower, new energy, energy storage, hydrogen energy, information technology, and direct current transmission. It conducts basic, forward-looking, application-oriented, and key common technology research, and orderly carries out the industrial application of scientific research achievements, providing a new engine for the high-quality development of Three Gorges Group.
