Hello, I seem to have gotten around the issue.

I made a new qcow image.
I used TruHeXEn 2021 and reset said qcow to factory.
I installed Halo2 multiplayer maps from the original Halo 2 multiplayer map pack
Downloaded update from insignia for halo2/Blastacular map pack

all seems to actually run and play now.

would like to hear the theories as to what was wrong with my old install?

Ill update here if things change

Cheers,
