To celebrate another Xata Launch Week, we kicked off a Summer Hackathon two weeks ago in collaboration with our friends at Prisma, Clerk and Inngest, where we set a challenge to create an app using the PXCI stack.
We have been impressed by the sheer number of entries and creativity that went into each and every submission, so a huge thank you to everyone that took part. Now it’s time to reveal the winners 🎉
As a reminder here’s a snapshot of the judging criteria and potential scores to earn across each area.
We have ranked the winners and each will receive a cash prize and some swag from the PXCI sponsors.

It was a tough choice but a huge congratulations to our three winners!
The Rundown is a Chrome extension that sits on top of YouTube in the background enabling you to summarize any video into chapters and save that info for later. A useful use-case for those who consume a lot of video and would like a way to save their summaries for later or for those busy individuals who would like a summary to help them prioritize which videos to watch next! Check out this demo video of how it works.

Here are some observations and thoughts from the judges:
- Very solid use case of Prisma, including advanced features. Pretty cool product which I can see being useful for sure.
- Super cool and technical project. The amount of features done with inngest was awesome like the entire transcoding video pipeline that was all chained together. A great example of how you can build something complex, pretty quickly. Also cool things in the code like handling flows but also failures gracefully. So a lot of cool interesting things across the board that came together to create this useful app.
- Really fun to think about the different ways to use this application both in a personal or business capacity. On the Clerk side, it was fun to see this being used in a chrome extension.
- Really nice to see the use of not only the Postgres side that Xata provides but also other capabilities like storing embeddings. Really great to see that you were able to build so much in such a short period of time.

Here are some observations and thoughts from the judges:
- This was a super cool project with a very unique use of AI which pushed the limits of what you can do with AI which was very interesting.
- I loved the creativity and idea. Very impressive use of Inngest using the fan out pattern to make things super lightweight and quick.
- Very creative and practical use of AI. Pleasantly surprised that the log-in step had international login capabilities which felt like a nice product touch. Fun use of Clerk to extend the concept everywhere in product within the interface.
- A great combination of functionality used from all the different products in the PXCI stack.
Persona is a web-based application that allows users to create different types of personas using AI. You add text prompts or specific details through an advanced editor and Persona generates a selection of personas complete with an image using default or predefined styles you have requested.

Here are some observations and thoughts from the judges:
- Very solid and interesting use of Prisma including extensive use of the Prisma API. Also the use of a separate caching solution to cache the Primsa query result which was awesome to see.
- Appreciating the creator doing a live stream and building in public. Super impressed with how he only started using Inngest but then learned a bunch of things like when to use flow control, or tools like concurrency and throttling. Also did some great orchestration with AI to chain the different steps to create things.
- One thing that really stood out was the UI & UX which was so elegantly organized and makes it fun to play.
- The idea was really amazing and is something that has huge potential if you move forward with this project.
We also wanted to call out a further six entries (in alphabetical order) who the judges felt also did a stellar job.
