Matrix Text "Color Per Word" doesn't work with multiple spaces between words!

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Add the TEXT effect onto a simple matrix model'
  2. Enter test like "HO HO HO" (2 spaces between the letters).'
  3. Select "Color Per Word" option in the text settings area.
  4. The Text "HO HO HO" will all be one color until the 2nd space is removed between each letter.

Expected behavior
The "Color Per Word" option doesn't seem to change the colors per word when MORE than 1 space is placed in between any characters.

  • OS: Windows 10
  • xLights version 2024..19]

Additional context
I'd like the code to be altered to allow anything MORE than 1 space in between characters to display "One Color Per Word" as it should.
Perhaps a maximum spacing of up to 5 to 10 characters can be supported??

Thank You.

UPDATE:
I have just discovered that it's even numbers of spaces that don't alternate the word colors.

e.g.
Using 2, 4, 6 (or more?) spaces WON'T alternate the colors.
Using 1, 3, 5 (or more?) spaces WILL alternate the colors.
