As of https://github.com/wyona/yanel/blob/master/src/build/build.properties the latest Yanel runs on Tomcat 7 from 2012 (see http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/changelog.html).

Are there any plans of upgrading to the latest Tomcat 7?

Whereas switching to Tomcat 8 would certainly involve some risks (as with many other major version changes), upgrading within the same major version, in this case v7, is most probably less risky and I assume that in four years of Tomcat7 development there were made many good improvements to the Tomcat 7 code base.

Any comments on this?

I suggest that Yanel must upgrade to 7.0.70 !

7.0.25 (the current Tomcat in Yanel) is FOUR YEARS OLD!

It would also solve the JSP compilation errors and would finally allow to run JSP based web apps on Yanel (I think a very critical requirement for Yanel's success).

Thanks.

Update: our productive environment on the latest Yanel runs now on Tomcat 7.0.70 without any issues.
