Also, move from replacing the file in place to concatenating the alamode
configuration. Closes #5.
Note that this has NOT been verified to work (I built the PR from my notes on what I had already done manually and very easily could have missed something). Please check that it works before merging. However, even if you don't have time to verify that it works, having these notes in a PR may help other people facing the same issue.
