The data needs an interface to allow researchers to select the fields they are interested in and click a button to create an export in either / or both CSV and JSON data structures. This should cause a delayed or instant download of files depending on the size and time constraints. You could also pose a message that says your information is being prepared and they will be sent a link to the downloadable file once the documents are ready to download.
