All around the globe, French tech engineers are recognized for their skills, but they suffer from a lack of a real global association. So we built one.
{% include home/map.html %}
We are organized by chapters. Each chapter represents a city and his members and has one or more managers, organizers, catalysts (we call them root, see the list on the right). If you want to create a while42 chapter in your city, you can contact us at this email: c3lsdmFpbkBrYWxhY2hlLmZy==
To become a member of while42, you should be either a French tech OR someone speaking French and having a computer science degree delivered by a French school / university.
All while42 members are tech engineers (developers, ops, devops, sys-admin, ingenieurs informaticiens, CTO ...) and/or have a degree from a french engineering tech school (Epitech, Supinfo, Epita, ...). There is no filter by degree or school. You do not have to have a degree to join as soon as you are a tech engineer (and french).
Everybody should know each other in each chapter. The goal is NOT to be as big as possible. We do not want to be a big organization where you don’t know who is standing next to you. Thus we will never be very much per chapter, and each chapter is growing slowly after the first 50 members.
We do not want haters or people attending only to eat free food.
To join while42 you can either be introduced by a friend who is already a member, or if you do not know anyone from while42, you can send an email to one of the chapter root telling him/her you are interested in joining. (see on the right)
while42 is not attached to any French engineering school. We have members from Epitech, Supinfo, Epita, ENSTA, Paris 7, Université de Marne-la-Vallée, Efrei, Universite de Nantes, Telecom Lille, Ecole polytechnique, HEI, Ecole centrale de Lyon, Université de Technologie de Compiègne, Institut I.M.A.C - Paris 2, Ecole Supérieure de Mécanique et d'Electricité SUDRIA, CEA Saclay, Ecole supérieure d'Informatique Electronique et Automatique... We also have developers with no diploma.
We speak, have fun and we eat very healthy food. We also have one of us giving a talk on a subject of his choice (technical or not). Have a look at our Flickr page.
<iframe width="100%" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/bfi4lcxYzBw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>No. We have this website, a private mailing list, and sometimes we tweet with the #while42 tag. We prefer to spend time IRL than in yet another useless LinkedIn alumni group.
We Are Legion.
