CSS Color HDR been adopted, per CSSWG resolution, and also @ccameron-chromium has asked for TAG review of the dynamic range limit functionality, where we read:

Aiming for Chrome 133 (early January)

so despite there (of course) being some open issues it seems time to publish a FPWD.

@astearns might be async?

The CSS Working Group just discussed [css-color-hdr] Time for FPWD, and agreed to the following:

  • RESOLVED: FPWD of color hdr
The full IRC log of that discussion <TabAtkins> ChrisL: i was prompted for this because ccameron has asked for TAG review of one of the parts, seemed like a good time for fpwd
<TabAtkins> ChrisL: spec is in reasonable shape, has some tests. apparently chrome is gonna ship the dynamic-range-limit feature soon, so good reason to have it published
<TabAtkins> astearns: we already have a resolution to adopt this
<TabAtkins> ChrisL: yes, a while ago
<TabAtkins> astearns: any concerns or questions?
<TabAtkins> astearns: proposed resolution is FPWD of color hdr
<TabAtkins> RESOLVED: FPWD of color hdr

No objection to publishing a WD, but shipping seems a bit concerning given issues such as #11307 are not addressed?
