http://voxeljs.com/ appears to be hosting content with unrelated spam links, and breaks "view source on github" links. For example:

Current voxeljs.com:

<p>Here is a presentation from May 2013 that covers all the exciting stuff that happened in voxel.js land up <a href="http://www.betking88.online">judi bola online</a> to that point.</p>

gh-pages branch version doesn't contain the link to betking:

<p>Here is a presentation from May 2013 that covers all the exciting stuff that happened in voxel.js land up to that point.</p>

Looking at the domain records, it has a single A record pointing at 198.54.116.189, which doesn't match any of github's current servers - https://help.github.com/en/articles/setting-up-an-apex-domain lists these IP addresses:

185.199.108.153
185.199.109.153
185.199.110.153
185.199.111.153

I've noticed this too. I thought I was crazy at first. All casino or gambling websites...

https://www.playwinn.online/
http://www.betking88.online/
http://www.judibola123.info/
https://judibola777.net/

All subtlety inserted as inline links within the paragraphs...
This is, without doubt, malicious behaviour.

Whoa crazy, thanks for finding. Pretty sure 198.54.116.189 is the old gh-pages DNS. I'll update it

Ah crap the domain expired last year. I don't control it anymore. I'll unpublish the site

Woaw. Maybe just use the default Github subdomain? 👍

OK so voxeljs.com is lost, and now operated by some evil spamming hijackers. That really sucks :-( I didn't know spammers did that actually. Of course I've seen expired domains getting replaced by crappy spamdexing websites many times. Always sad to see, but here they've replaced it with a fake replica of the original site. Gah! Presumably pursuing copyright or trademark infringement claims wouldn't get very fair. The domain is lost so...

Well is that the canonical URL you want to promote? If not, then... Step 1 is register a different domain.

Close issue?

...well it raises a few other actions right? Any links to the lost domain should be removed to try to get google indexing the new site and de-indexing the spammy one. At the moment the spammers are winning, but maybe it wouldn't take too much to win the ranks back at a new location.

Also...

  • Reply to people in the issues here who are confused about the state of the website (Also ideally people edit their comments to not link the old domain even in these discussions)
  • Re-host other subdomain things such as creator.voxeljs.com
  • Is voxelbuilder.com still OK? I can't actually tell for sure, but seems suspicious that it immediately talks about "Casino Games". Suffered the same fate??
