It is possible to open the ports on a server, join it, close the ports, leave it, and rejoin it (all without closing the Interface.) So the Interface must be saving some sort of routes/connection info to be able to connect back to the server even though the ports are closed. This is all done using the Domain ID.
If you close Interface and start it again, you will no longer be able to connect unless the ports are open again.
