At the time of writing kordac supports markdown through a thirdparty library. This has lead to some limitations that would be better addressed
I would foresee this as Kordac 2.0.0 or later and not a current endeavour. This would allow us to have more control over how markdown affects the input we are handling and tidy up workarounds because of how markdown or its extensions work.
Some form of backwards compatibility would be useful to external users.
