  • Give option for the three colors given to the tasks based on their due date : Over due, Today and Future. Also the Undated ones. When the task are moved to the completed column, keep the color same, as it helps to distinguish them better.

  • Give another option, type of this color indicated. As you know, Kanban philosophy comes from the idea that, earlier, the tasks were written on a Sticky notes and arranged on a wall/board. These stick notes used to be colored ones and each sticky notes use to represent certain type of task. In my case the color is representing the due date. So, this option will have two dropdown option, either Bar Indicator or Whole Card will have background color based on the color.
