Clarity on what Proxy/SOCKS format is accepted

Hi, for years I've never been able to get proxies/socks working. I've tried countless combinations, including directly what settings say. It never works.

The settings spell out this:
"[*]IP:PORT[@user_b64:password_b64]"
However this NordVPN proxy doesn't work (this is not my actual username and password)
"socks5://amsterdam.nl.socks.nordhold.net:1080@WG40YUxiNzNRcFRrWXpWOUhqTjJnV3JVNW1EcVM4RjA:QjhtS3pRMldzMVl2UnQ1TmNMM0d4UDlzVDZKZFY0VXc"

Using this specific proxy string it says "FATAL ERROR! For input string: "//amsterdam.nl.socks.nordhold.net"", so clearly I'm missing something. Is it expecting numbers for the proxy IP and not an address?

I've encoded my login to base 64, nothing. The actual login, nothing. taking out socks5 at the beginning, nothing, and so on.

How come?

So I gotta ask these questions to make sure I'm not missing something?
Does the program support http proxies?
Does the program support https proxies?
Does the program support socks5 proxies?
Does the program support authenticated http proxies?
Does the program support authenticated https proxies?
Does the program support authenticated socks5 proxies?

Please tell me the exact string I should use for the program to accept this proxy and this login. Thanks.

For HTTP/HTTPS connections:
ip:port (e.g., 127.0.0.1:8080)

For SOCKS4/SOCKS5 connections:
*ip:port (e.g., *127.0.0.1:8080)
