X-Com EW LW: Mac App Store Install

Hi there,

After reading through many forums, there are no clear-cut instructions that I could find for the Mac App Store installation (So EW was downloaded without Steam) even though I know people have had success in installing LW Mod via App Store game (without explaining exactly how).

One of the 1st directions is to install through Terminal via XEW, however without Steam, this install directory does not exist, (Terminal Error: 'Please specify xew dir location') so:

a) What path file do I need to type into Terminal instead?
b) I have searched for the Hex replacements mentioned in the DefaultGameCore.ini (replacing 58 with 57), however these strings can not be found. Does this still have to be done once the Terminal install is executed?

So is there a clear installation guide in one of the forums specifically for the Mac App Store upgrade that I have overlooked?

Hi @jexpistols... Sorry, from what I've been able to glean from the forums, the file structure of the app store version is different from the Steam one and this installer probably won't work. I'd suggest asking for help in the forums, maybe?

Thanks for your reply. Yea I couldn’t figure it out, so I ended up purchasing the Steam Version on sale, and the file worked immediately.
