There is no need for every drone to connect to the hub and thereby send duplicates of the rows to it. This is solved by the hub not finishing the three way handshakes with other nodes if it already connected to one.
If the connection is lost between the hub and a drone, the mesh tries to self heal and connect some drone with the hub. This could for example be that each drone always tries to connect to nearby nodes (drones or the hub). This might anyways required to check which drones are listening.
