When adding conn, it is necessary to increase and retain the conn reference count at the same time. Another problem was fixed along the way, conn_put is missing when hcon is NULL in the timeout routine. The bt_copy_from_sockptr() return value is being misinterpreted by most users: a non-zero result is mistakenly assumed to represent an error code, but actually indicates the number of bytes that could not be copied. Remove bt_copy_from_sockptr() and adapt callers to use copy_safe_from_sockptr(). For sco_sock_setsockopt() (case BT_CODEC) use copy_struct_from_sockptr() to scrub parts of uninitialized buffer. Opportunistically, rename `len` to `optlen` in hci_sock_setsockopt_old() and hci_sock_setsockopt(). A Broadcast Sink might require BIG sync to be terminated and re-established multiple times, while keeping the same PA sync handle active. This can be possible if the configuration of the listening (PA sync) socket is reset once all bound BISes are established and accepted by the user space: 1. The DEFER setup flag needs to be reset on the parent socket, to allow another BIG create sync procedure to be started on socket read. 2. The BT_SK_BIG_SYNC flag needs to be cleared on the parent socket, to allow another BIG create sync command to be sent. 3. The socket state needs to transition from BT_LISTEN to BT_CONNECTED, to mark that the listening process has completed and another one can be started if needed. The usage of rcu_read_(un)lock while inside list_for_each_entry_rcu is not safe since for the most part entries fetched this way shall be treated as rcu_dereference: Note that the value returned by rcu_dereference() is valid only within the enclosing RCU read-side critical section [1]_. Since hci_get_route holds the device before returning, the hdev should be released with hci_dev_put at the end of iso_listen_bis even if the function returns with an error. The voice setting is used by sco_connect() or sco_conn_defer_accept() after being set by sco_sock_setsockopt(). The PCM part of the voice setting is used for offload mode through PCM chipset port. This commits add support for mSBC 16 bits offloading, i.e. audio data not transported over HCI. The BCM4349B1 supports 16 bits transparent data on its I2S port. If BT_VOICE_TRANSPARENT is used when accepting a SCO connection, this gives only garbage audio while using BT_VOICE_TRANSPARENT_16BIT gives correct audio. This has been tested with connection to iPhone 14 and Samsung S24. Add Device with LE type requires updating resolving/accept list which requires quite a number of commands to complete and each of them may fail, so instead of pretending it would always work this checks the return of hci_update_passive_scan_sync which indicates if everything worked as intended. This marks LL Privacy as stable by removing its experimental UUID and move its functionality to Device Flag (HCI_CONN_FLAG_ADDRESS_RESOLUTION) which can be set by MGMT Device Set Flags so userspace retain control of the feature. When hci_dev is closing down, mgmt_power_off will free parts of the device. The freed memory can then be accessed when processing pending MGMT_OP_REMOVE_ADV_MONITOR cmds. Since submitting the command is allowed when it is powered off (as in previous discussions linked below), fix this by returning MGMT_STATUS_BUSY to pending MGMT_OP_REMOVE_ADV_MONITOR operations submitted as hci_dev_close_sync is running. Avoid processing pending cmds since doing so will lead to reacquiring the same lock. Add a sanity check within mgmt_remove_adv_monitor to ensure the cmd is still valid and exit early if not.
