Discord has "Announcement" channels that users/other server owners can "Follow" and any messages that are "Published" are also posted into another server. This is a great feature, but each message must be specifically published to show up in other servers, and at the moment it must either be done manually by clicking on each message or via another bot. The discord API supports bots Crossposting/Publishing messages, and I would love it if I was able to mark some feeds to automatically Crosspost/Publish the bot messages so that users can get these notifications on their own servers.

As a side note there is apparently a rate limit on how many messages can be published per hour per channel, which I believe is 10 currently.

This would be a great addition for things like official servers for anything with an RSS feed (Podcasts, etc.)!

Thanks so much!

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. Others have also suggested the same, and this feature is planned. At the moment however, new features are being put on hold to prioritize scalability issues with the public bot. Once that has been dealt with, new features will be put back on the map. This issue will remain opened until then.

Thanks again - and yes, there is a limit of 10 per hour per channel from what I tested as well that applies to both bots and humans.

Unfortunately there are still no plans yet to tackle announcements. As a workaround however, there are bots that may auto-publish messages in announcement channels that you can find and use
