Could we get controller/gamepad support?

I'm really loving the game so far but sometimes you just want to sit down on the couch and play on the big screen.

However I can't seem to get the game to work with my controller, I'm using a DualShock 4 (to futher complicate things) using the Steam button mapping feature (I added the game's executable to my library as a non-steam game) but neither adding a custom mapping for DS4 nor using a mapping for XBOX Controller emulation seems to work.
