There has been some requests in the same vain as this (url scheme and command line). It would be nice to be able to run a Shortcut (iOS or mac) to triggering various functions - sync (all or named) database, create entry with parameters and additionally generate a password for new entry in the named database, check if the database is unlocked, trigger locking the database. Additionally similar to keepassxc cli get a list of entries or entry and get referenced item in the entry (of course fail if the database is locked) and or authenticate.

Thanks @georgesnow - we do have it on our radar.

+1

There are some apps which behave poorly with autofill (not strongboxes fault), I can envision a shortcut which

  • gathers context such as app name
  • searches or creates an entry for the app name
  • copies username and password to clipboard for easy paste

The shortcut could possibly be run from the command centre, accessibility areas (triple click, assistive touch), screen shot, action button etc.
