Configuration not updating on updating new key in env

I recently tried to run make release-android and since then I am not able to access quo preview in my debug build.
Initially I thought that for some reason project is using .env.nightly even for debug builds, but I tried adding new key in both files and both keys are not propagated to our react-native.config

Its probably has to do with caching
