Hello, I’ve noticed that many times there is a discrepancy between the "name" in "possession_team" and the "name" in "team."
In this case, for example, in the provided image, both should be "AC Milan," as it is the team performing the action and holding possession of the ball.
Why, however, is "Liverpool" present as "name" of "possession_team"?

My interpretation of this has been that Pirlo never gets full control of the ball here, so it doesn't break Liverpool's spell of possession. In the next action he's tackled by Xabi Alonso, then the ball drops to Steven Gerrard, who puts a pass out of play for a goal kick, and it's that that ends the possession. Similarly, earlier in this possession, Alonso is tackled by Gattuso but manages to win it back, and that doesn't end the possession either. Until Milan have it under control, it's still Liverpool's possession.
