I create and maintain open-source libraries for the Ruby, JavaScript, Elixir, and Go ecosystems. I build and operate open APIs (like thecolorapi.com) and guided educational resources (like naked-wordpress) for new and old developers alike. I also contribute to organizational guidelines intended to better the greater development community and blog at joshbeckman.org (for example, how I think about funding).

As an individual, your sponsorship enables me to spend more time pursuing my passion - building great open and free software that you get to use. Money from sponsors like you go to running the servers I rent to operate open APIs, tooling used to write and run the software I open up to you, and food and shelter for me and my family.

If you operate a company that uses my projects, your product depends on the stability, reliability, and security of open source software. Your sponsorship helps ensure this, by allowing me to dedicate the time and effort required to maintain these projects. Your sponsorship can also give you exposure to these developers, helping expand the reach of your product.

I give increased priority to issues created/upvoted by sponsors, with greater weight given to higher tiers. This will be ad hoc at first (I pay attention to names) but hopefully backed by tooling in the future.

@joshbeckman

This would cover my monthly server costs for running open APIs and my development setup! A milestone in making open-source work profitable for me.
