What is BlueBubbles

BlueBubbles was the first completely open-source, cross-platform, and completely free solution for using iMessage on any device, from your Android phone/tablet, to your Linux Desktop, and more!

The app ecosystem has been, and will continue to be "community-supported", meaning what we implement within the app is almost fully based on what the community wants and has asked for. In addition, it is "community-developed", meaning we have a set of primary developers, but also take pull requests and code submissions from virtually anyone willing to contribute.

That said, since the app's inception, all developers have been working on the app in their free time, and currently balance it with work and/or schooling. No one is currently getting paid a salary (or even hourly) for their work. The only monetary gains made through the app's development is donations.

Where would the money go to?

As it stands, all donations have been distributed equally to all the primary developers currently working on the app. Any monetary gains via the GitHub sponsorship program will be distributed in the same way. Of course, this may be be subject to change based on factors. However, I don't foresee that changing unless the amount is large enough that we could potentially pay someone to work on the app.

What benefits would you get?

Supporting the project monetarily does not guarantee that your feature requests will make it into the app, however, it does give us a reason to implement it sooner rather than later. All feature requests and changes are evaluated and a decision will be made on whether to implement it or not.
