making models tenant aware

I'm evaluating adding this package an application that is underway, do we have to manually make our models tenant aware, or does the package do this automatically somehow? Thinking about using multiple databases, so I guess do the business models even need to have a tenant relationship, since they will only live in one specific tenant database?
