Feature or improvement you want

Right now Feeder only supports the default browser for opening items and links. I want to be able to select any installed browser, directly or as custom tab.

Why should this be added?

I have multiple browsers installed for different use cases. I prefer Firefox for articles opened with Feeder, because of addon support and for general browsing I use Vanadium, because of enhanced security. With Vanadium being my default browser, it currently does not seem to be possible to use Feeder with Firefox.

I could see some use case for this.

I usually always clear my cookies and data when an web browsing session. However some subscripion paywalled news site that also needs login also gets erased. Since Firefox or its forks doesn't support making site exceptions for clearing cookies on android, it would be useful to open links with a secondary browser with other settings.

I think you can set any browser as the CustomTab browser, separately from being your default browser

Thanks for your feedback!
I can indeed set a different WebView implementation in the developer settings, if that is what you mean, but that unfortunately affects any app. Furthermore Firefox is not a WebView implementation and can not be selected in this setting, despite offering custom tab functionality, which works with Feeder if selected as default browser.

this is what I currently use to solve this issue: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.ub0r.android.choosebrowser&hl=en

Not WebView. Feeder doesn't use WebViews. CustomTabs is something else. Look in the App Info for your desired browser

Just to be clear: This is still a valid feature request, to add an option inside Feeder to pick which browser to use.
