Could you add a context-menu for actions within .desktop files?
This would enable things like incognito mode for browsers.
And maybe also an option for launching via gksudo.
Category changing shortcuts could greatly improve keyboard navigation.
I suggest something like PageUp/PageDown or Ctrl+Tab/Ctrl+Shift+Tab.
The main reason why I switched from default menu-bar to brisk was the search widget (a must-have, imho). But Places and System tabs are useful.
They could be optional: this may convert to brisk also all those conservative users who still want them, and keep happy the minimalistic ones.
Finally: being brisk-menu keyboard centric, why don't you explain all these shortcuts directly within the README.md or a popup from the applet?
Thank you very much for your effort in making our lives easier and sorry for the long post! 😛
