The current user interface for accessing and selecting SITMUN viewer clients lacks user-friendliness, clarity, and functionality. Users face difficulties navigating the system and accessing the applications and territories they need.
Describe the solution you'd like
This project aims to enhance the design and functionality of the interface for accessing and selecting available SITMUN clients for a specific user, providing a more user-friendly, clear, and functional design. Additionally, it seeks to expand the current functionality.
The proposed functional logic is as follows:
Access to SITMUN: From the login window, users can enter their user space, which offers access to the various combinations of application and territory that the user has permissions for. Additionally, and distinctly in the user interface, access to public applications is provided. The access window includes a ‘public’ access option, allowing access to a public space that only lists the applications/territories that are public.
Once logged into the user space, the user will be clearly presented with a list of territories and applications. The territory list is displayed as a list of all the territories the user has access to, with a default ‘all’ option that does not filter the applications. If a user has access to many territories, making it difficult to present the options unfiltered by volume, a notification will appear on the main screen asking the user to select a territory from the list. The application list is presented as a set of elements with characteristics (image, description, territory, and last access). The user window offers the following functionality:
Option to view user data in SITMUN (territory, role, expiration…) and manage certain user data (change email, phone, and password).
Inform about: the date of last access to SITMUN, the date of last access for each application, the expiration date of permissions for each application/territory.
News and announcements space for the SITMUN administrator to send messages to each user based on their access permissions.
Differentiated access to public applications.
Territory search.
Language change.
Logout.
An illustrative concept of the interface is presented below. This design is only demonstrative to convey the initial idea of the SITMUN Network. The contracting company should develop this idea and propose one or more GUI designs. The design proposal will emphasize creating a modern, clear, and functional image for the user and ensuring it is responsive.
Describe alternatives you've considered
A minimal redesign that focuses only on aesthetic improvements without adding new functionalities. This was deemed insufficient as it doesn’t address the need for enhanced functionality and better user experience.
