Add ‘None’ as a possible background layer so that the user can decide not to activate any of the background layers available in the viewer. This is a functionality that we use a lot in SITMUN2.

It is possible to create a Background named "None" that has no content. Maybe it should be present in the default configuration. Could you test this possibility?

If the desired result is the same, yes, this is a possible solution.
The aim is that the user can select this option as a background map in the viewer but that it really does not incorporate any background map. I understand that it would be the same as you have described.
So for my part, I confirm that this would be a solution.
Thanks!
