  • Online Help The question for the online help system is, how can we show help information about the system similar in spirit to how Emacs does it? We could show text, but that raises the barrier to entry for integrators, and it lessens the distinction between Emacs and Emacsy if Emacsy can show a full screen of text. I suggest the online help system be delivered by an embedded web server. When the user wants to see the documentation on a function C-h f some-function, then a URL is opened to localhost:8080 with that information. This doesn't raise the barrier to entry for integrators. It keeps Emacs and Emacsy distinct, and it allows for whatever kinds of styling and display one prefers.
