Thanks! Yes, I think it can be added by adding a secondary camera that's shifted compared to the other one and applying the rotations to the geometry instead of the camera. I might make some experiments with the idea to see how well it works when I find the time. But I'm not very clear on how to compute the exact amount of the shift required. That's the first problem I'll need to solve.
I'm marking this as an enhancement. I'll see if anyone else will come up with a different/better alternative.
