Why is the communication time of process 0 in the generated timer.out file much less than the communication time of other processes but the execution time is much greater than the execution time of other processes

This question might be incomplete without specifying your schism version, use case, configuration, compiler, cluster detail, simulation detail (# of cores etc.). Please provide enough detail, attach log file etc. to maximize the chance of having an answer.

I am no expert, but the simple answer could be that process 0 does a lot of writing to text files, that takes considerable processing time.
