Is it possible to implement proximity searches when using rentrez to search in PubMed? As of 2022 you could use proximity searches in PubMed as such: "hip pain"[Title/Abstract:~2] - hence "hip" and "pain" could be two words apart.
However, the same approach does not work using rentrez. I tried looking in entrez documentation without much luck!
Thanks,

I doubt it. I seem to recall reading that the online PubMed search had diverged from what was available in the Entrez system but can't seem to find where I read that now. The only way to know for certain is to ask NCBI directly. If you do so, please share their response here for others to reference. Thanks.
