TypeScript: Why allowTouchMove first arguement type is EventTarget and not Element/HTMLElement?

Hi, i install latest version of body-scroll-lock-upgrade

i see this in index.d.ts of lib:

export declare type BodyScrollOptions = {
    reserveScrollBarGap?: boolean | undefined;
    allowTouchMove?: ((el: EventTarget) => boolean) | undefined;
};

Why there is a EventTarget and not Element/HTMLElement
