lose some weight.

I really like 4 mounting holes - 3 or even 2 mounting holes always make me super nervous. Maybe this could be optional?

I'm getting mixed signals from the community I don't care for 3hole mount my self, we can make plenty of arm designs available, we need to decide on the official one.

so the question is:
should we go with a 3 hole mount or a 4 hole mount by default?

How much weight do we save by having 3 instead of 4 holes?

I have no clue on how to calculate this, but something like 4g (I'm guessing)

The difference is 8-10g. I did the math :))

It's not worth the risk, a two-hole version would mather from a weight perspective, but that would compromise the structural integrity of the frame.I'm changing the official version back to a full four-hole system.

I'm planning to create a wizard that will optimize the frame to the specific requirements of the user Like if you want zip tie holes or printed parts, camera mounting solution, number of holes for motors and more...

@rgbskills Wizzard sounds really cool.

What is the total weight of the frame, including hardware? I mean if the aim is a racing frame and the arms are easy to swap anyways, maybe 8-10g are worth it ;-) Bob Roogies new 3" frame for example only has two motor holes at all and still seems to be sturdy.

The motor is more protected with all screws inserted, you are losing the carbon anyway. It's better to have it there. I yet to receive the carbon version, I can only give an answer once I receive the frame. Until then it's just speculation but it should be around 250-300g

I'll order some 4mm carbon, then I can rapidly prototype the arms...
