Like everyone else, he doesn’t know what data science really is, but suspects it has to do with predicting the future before it catches you empty-handed. He has an incredibly supportive girlfriend, dog, and son who let him spend so much time preparing Data Science Retreat. He has a PhD in Machine learning and worked at top labs (U. of Colorado, Boulder Carnegie Mellon)

When not working on a clean energy startup, he’s reading philosophy, history, or hunting anomalies, looking for hints of the future – though heeding the caveat of a certain baseball player: “Predictions are hard; especially about the future.” He’s Eastern by birth, Western by schooling, global by outlook, and European by choice, calling the urban utopia of Berlin home.
