Why do you want to join the PyLadies Project Communications team?
I am interested in connecting different amateur communities and introducing newcomers to python and open source tools in a free way accessible for any citizen who wishes to get involved in citizen science. My background is in climate science, meteorology, astronomy and Earth Observation but is mostly theoretical and now I am moving to more applied fields. I have been member of the PyLadies Berlin chapter during my PhD and I was empowered myself to change research path and think out of the box. I have studied dynamical systems and I am interested in graph theory. I am an amateur radio producer myself and volunteer in the Empowerment, Equity and Inclusivity team of ECSA (European Citizen Science Association). In my current job I explore more earth observation datasets and how to make them easily accessible to the public. I think that Pyladies communications is a team effort that can promote learning how to code and connecting at the same time for people who need help with it around the world!

Are you comfortable communicating in English?
yes
Weekly meetings: Are you available to attend conference calls once a week?
NOTE:team members must be available for a monthly video call
I could start with attending monthly video calls, due to increased workload until the end of the year, if possible.
Involvement : How frequently can you contribute to the team?
NOTE: Team members & co-leads are required to be active during a 1 month period (involvement is defined below): 1. giving feedback/comments on one or more issues the group is working through 1. opening issues on a relevant topic for the group 1. submitting a PR for review 1. having a substantial slack discussion on a topic 1. attending two or more meetings in a one month period 1. making progress on an assigned issue
I can contribute once per month in the above matters giving priority to submitting a PR for review to the team. Since I recently moved to Italy and had a job change I am aware that my contribution can be minimal at the beginning, not to overpromise and then not deliver.
