Anuvaad Background: :

Anuvaad (https://anuvaad.sunbird.org/) has document text extraction and translation capabilities from/to Englisht to 11 official languages in India. Bhashini (https://bhashini.gov.in/en) also has APIs that support TextToSpeech (TTS), ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), Real time speech to speech translation and transliteration capabilities to a lot of the official languages in India.

Features to be implemented:

All these capabilities provided by Anuvaad and Bhashini are powerful and can be leveraged for building other solutions. The ask here is to build a framework agnostic library that can expose java script functions to leverage these capabilities that are available and make it available as an NPM module. The idea is that this library can be integrated with content editors/web frontends that need translation & transliteration capability for Indic languages. The library should also allow for multiple file formats (pdf first priority) to be uploaded for text extraction.

I have studied the Anuvaad background and Bhashini in detail, also Gained an insight about the specific JavaScript based requirements of the project including the NPM Packaging and Library integration too.I am really excited and motivated to contribute to the Anuvaad as a project.

I am in my 3rd year of B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University. I bring with me my experience of full-Stack development, where my most development experience is with the MERN stack that mostly aligns with the requirements of the project. I have also knowledge of Node package manager and required version control for contributing to the project.I have experience of developing Node based websites with EJS as well as react based front-ends.

Studying about the project I have also found out that the project is based on API integration and parsing of data through APIs and I have worked with both types of the tasks. Along with the project based knowledge I am also certified in JavaScript ( JSE-I NetAcad by Cisco ) and also cleared hackerrank skill verification for JavaScript.
