clash-for-windows is not working

this may be peripheral, but:

1. clash download from cosmic-store/flatpak gets stuck at 8%, and fails
2. official linux package of clash-for-windows errs exec: Failed to execute process: './cfw' the file could not be run by the operating system.

Installing this from Cosmic Store installed correctly and ran from launcher.
I also downloaded from the Clash website. Application launched from there as well.

After downloading the Clash tar.gz, I simply extracted the files, then navigated to the newly extracted directory. I then ran the following command:

./cfw
