Wordpress Webplayer Plugin AAC stream issue only on iOS #1097
Comments
Hey Alexander, If this is an general iOS (<=15.7.1) issue, shouldn‘t then everybody with AAC files (coming from Auphonic?) using the webplayer have the same problem? Tried some other Podcast using the webplayer (other version) and AAC (from Auphonic) on my iOS (15.7.1) device without trouble :-( My possibilities are limited to test, but would be good if someone with an iOS 16 device can check. Also playing my files on an older webplayer version can bring some insides, right? I will try some AAC files from other podcaster on my setup. |
Just another short feedback on this. It‘s confusing! It don‘t look like a general AAC issue. I testen an other file from an other Podcasts (https://lagedernation.org/podcast/ldn309-deutsch-franzoesische-reibereien-hamburger-hafen-deal-gesetzentwurf-quick-freeze-rishi-sunak-premierminister-gasrechnungsbremse-dezember-parteinahe-stiftungen/) on my installation and it worked. BUT it‘s not rendert with Auphonic. Also I checked all my old files an some are working some not :-( BUT all of them are rendert with Auphonic on HE 80kbps. First I thought it all about file size. BUT I‘m not sure. Example working: Example NOT working: |
I have a strange issue with AAC Webplayer streams on iOS hosted on Wordpress.
Hoster: Podcaster.de
Wordpress: 6.0.3
Webplayer: 5.7.1 (Podcaster.de incl. Plugin)
iOS: 15.7.1 and lower tested
Audioformat: AAC HE 64, 80 und 96 without HE (Auphonic created), only tested this formats.
Example: https://zwcvdl.podcaster.de/kp016-artisan/
If the stream plays it works for round about 2-3 minutes but than the audio is off and the stream plays on. Stopping and starting brings the audio back.
In the past (beginn of this year) it works without trouble but now also old files show this issue without changing the files in any case.
On Android and Windows it works without issues and also the downloaded file and file coming from the Feed work on iOS.
I tested Safari, Firefox and DuckDuck browser and all show the same issue.
If I use MP3 coming from the same source (Auphonic) it‘s all fine.
Example works fine: https://zwcvdl.podcaster.de/kp017-sensorik/
Would be great if you can take a look and give some feedback.
Chris
