I was super excited when I saw the pnp cmdlets in the o365 cli. Alas, my hopes were quickly dashed when I tried to connect to a site using connect-pnponline

Hi @jasonabeckett could you please clarify a little bit more your expectations from the Office 365 CLI since I do not see it being used from your screen? It would be of great help to share with us steps to reproduce the issue and what is the expected behavior.

Perhaps I'm not understanding the design intention. On my very first run of the Office 365 cli I found the SharepointPNP cmdlets available in the console. However I can't connect to a site because of the missing DLL. Why load up the module in the office 365 cli if they can't be used?

Hi @jasonabeckett the SharePoint PnP cmdlets are not part of the Office 365 CLI. The CLI does not install the PowerShell PnP cmdlets, but it comes with different set of its own commands. For more help you can type o365 --help and explore the CLI syntax.

The error you are seeing is not related to the CLI since you have not invoked the Office 365 CLI on your screen, but the PnP PowerShell. Perhaps the PnP PowerShell has been previously installed on the device you are working on.

If you'd like to use the PnP PowerShell, but you are facing that issue, I would recommend you opening an issue in the PnP PowerShell repository here: https://github.com/pnp/PnP-PowerShell/issues so the folks working on this can help you resolve the DLL issue.
