User problem

From the user perspective field settings are field settings and it doesn't make sense to have two tabs and extra clicks I believe.

It looks like plomino2 already has merged this with two schemata. All the interesting parts are the specific field type settings and that should be high up on the form I think, instead of two tabs. A 2nd tab might be needed for "advanced" perhaps but I think with the IDE changes and the formulas going into a different tab then one tab is probably fine.

Also what is the summary used for? It's not used as helptext or anything right? If it's not used we should get rid of it. If it is used we should explain where and how its used.
