can smashbox be executed on windows as is or do we need put development effort into this?

Will give this a try tomorrow, when I'm close to my windows desktop PC

It is not supported and will require some dev work to get it working.

let me first bring smashbox on linux properly up and running - next will be windows

I think Mac is supported - I haven't tried it myself though. It's possible that Kuba has done the windows work. We might want to check the CERN repo?

Let me know if you need help getting smashbox running.

I was more asking if we want to have smashbox on mac within the ci setup - this will add additional work on my desk (no whining - I'm happy to take care about that)

Well, I don't think Mac is as important as Windows, because Mac is (client wise) similar to Linux. Windows is very different.
