The animation of this discrete bar has the opposite effect of what the data actually say. It seems like more and more people are dying across all age groups, when really the death rate for the smallest age group keeps getting smaller. This is a result of the x-axis domain changing dynamically. Not sure it's the better default in general, but we might consider fixing the x-axis domain of discrete bar charts during an animtion.
