CONCEPT
User got an issue with something, eg thing not installing, driver broken - cant fix it themselves, and no one responds on forum
-> give a bit of money to elementary as incentive to help out
-> have people from a list of "helpers" jump in and try to figure out how to help
BENEFIT
-Marketing argument: Safety for people who want to use elementary but arent tech savvy, nor want to rely on other people's goodwill alone, and worry about this or that
-Community argument: I am no dev ! But i can support elementary through supporting other people
-Financial argument: secures more money, secures elementary. It could be used as bounties for devs for important stuff ! (bug bounties, extra push for migration to the hottest new lib)
-Technical argument: easy way to get all the painpoints of using elementary, just ask the people involved
-Future argument: ifwhen eOS expands in the future, that can be a decent venue for money for semiprofessionnal/professional support and funding to reinvest in development
-Cosmetic argument: Supporting eOS makes your hairs softer and your teeth shiny
IMPLEMENTATION
-Need to have a group of "helpers", who know the ins and outs of linux, who would be happy giving their time for this - and big enough so theres likely someone who can help
-Need to think of a standard funnel where people can ask for this "monetized support"
-Need to advertise/talk about this on several places
BONUS
feature requests that are worked on could get something similar. I really want gtk4 ? Give a few pennies to encourage the eOS devs to spend extra time on it. Community can this way "crowdfund" things already approved and in the making.
