Hi Oomphers,
Bndtools is a set of Eclipse plugins for supporting OSGi development. I've developed some tooling and config associated with OSGi Remote Services (ECF Remote Services: https://github.com/ECF) and some of it uses/is based upon bndtools (e.g. see videos on https://github.com/ECF/grpc-RemoteServicesProvider?tab=readme-ov-file).
As described here bndtools/bnd#6046 bndtools is currently very difficult to install/setup/config...especially if one is trying to add on new tooling (plugins) + bndtools workspace contents (bndtools has a separate concept of a bndtools workspace, repositories rather than target platform, project templates, etc).
The upshot is that Oomph might be able to help with the bndtools complexity wrt install, extension install, workspace creation/setup (using bndtools workspace templates, etc). I don't have enough knowledge of Oomph's current capabilities and extensibility to be sure if this can be done...and frankly speaking I don't think I have the available bandwidth to figure that out.
Consider this a request for interest/help: Bndtools+remote services tooling (and other bndtools extensions) could benefit from using Ooomph for install, eclipse workspace setup/config, bndtools workspace config (from templates, etc). Anyone from this community available/interested in working together across projects for this?
