Weβre happy to be celebrating Pride in the GitHub Community and weβd love for you to join us π³οΈβπ. Whether itβs contributing to an LGBTQIA+ open source project or making your repo more rainbow - weβd love to know how you are celebrating!
What is Pride? On June 28, 1969, queer New Yorkers rioted against police brutality outside the Stonewall Inn, one year later on the anniversary, a march commemorated the anniversary of the protest. Now Pride is celebrated in the month of June and is meant to celebrate, uplift, and support the rights of queer folks. For more on Pride, check out this link.

There is still plenty of work to be done around the world, in open source, and online for the LGBTQIA+ community, but GitHub maintains the belief that we should be contributing to an open, welcoming, and inclusive community π. From us to you, wishing you a wonderful rest of your Pride month π³οΈβπ!
