The same restriction does not apply to issue labels. I believe the below approach (only curtailing to the width of one line, as opposed to using an arbitrary limit) is the best one, and should apply to discussions as well. |

In my opinion it would be nice for accessibility and clarity to be able to view the full title of a label, either permanently or on hover (since I understand the need to sometimes shorten these names). Perhaps we could have an additional regular tooltip, or an expansion to the custom tooltip that includes the title?
I do wonder however if the small displayable width is strictly necessary. After all, label names are not normally long, and you would expect that if one has exceeded a usual width it is for clarification purposes and therefore important to show. In this case, it is actually important contextual information that is hidden: "Code Search" is quite different from "Code Search and Navigation".
